YOU ARE AN ASSET

What makes you an asset? The very fact that you are created in the image of God makes you an asset but make sure you are an asset in the right hand of God.

An asset is defined as a useful or valuable thing or person.

Usually or more commonly the word asset is used in connection with something that is valuable or useful but less commonly used in connection with a person. The most valuable of all of the creation of God is man because God created man in His image.

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

Many grow up hearing harmful words from parents at home, teachers at school that you are useless and will amount to nothing-these are words that kill. The world has begun to recognise the harm such words do to children which lingers on in their little minds and have changed the systems and now teach to speak positive words instead of negative words, but God’s Word teaches that words can either cause life or death.

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

Words are not just positive or negative but words carry power to give life or death. God created all things by the power of His word by speaking. When we speak we create life or death, so one has to be careful EVERY word that comes out of our mouths.

Whoever wants to build another person always speaks life over others and over situations. If you are a person who speaks life you are a powerful asset in the hands of God and His kingdom. In contrast, he who speaks death is an “asset” in the hands of the devil.

Many times man has this tendency to be quick to judge a person which is unlike God Who is patient with us – as followers of Christ we should not be quick to judge anyone, but we can be quick to give words of life in any situation to encourage, edify and build others, as in 1 Cor 14:3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. It goes on to say he who prophesies is GREATER than one who speaks in tongues, as it builds, strengthens and comforts others.

Whenever we see something good in another person we can be vocal about it and tell him “You are an asset, you are valuable, you did good” and appreciate the good in others by telling them, don’t just hold it in.

Jesus had ONE quality in Him that attracted sinners and prostitutes to run towards Him when the Pharisees wanted to judge them, as they knew He would never condemn, even when the whole world would. The world does not need one more voice to condemn, but it needs many more voices to lift them out of the condemned pit they are already in. No matter what, every human being is an asset that needs a touch from the Merciful Saviour Jesus Christ.

CHOOSE LIFE AND SPEAK WORDS OF LIFE ALWAYS OVER OTHERS AND SITUATIONS AND YOU WILL BE A VALUABLE ASSET IN THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD.

  1. Appreciate your blog Dr John. Yes, we those are called by God to be HIS children are an assets in His hand. We must use our tongue in such a way to bless ourselves and to many others.
