WHAT ITCHING EARS LIKE TO HEAR?

For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Tim 4:3,4

We are living in these days mentioned above in the last days when people don’t like to hear nor TOLERATE sound doctrine but they would WANT THEIR EARS TICKLED and accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires.

The above is a verse that most people are aware of from the Bible but it is time to check if we belong to that category!

First of all, let us analyze what are those things when we hear get our ears tickled – when we hear talks on things that bless us like money, cars, buildings, lands, properties, private planes, luxury, and so much more.

Are these things bad and should believers spend their lives in poverty? Am I against prosperity? Am I against “blessings”?

On the contrary, I do believe God blesses and prospers His people! Am I contradicting myself?

Now the problem is when ALL you hear and wanna hear is about prosperity, wealth, cars, and mansions. And there ARE those when they preach and teach ALL they talk is wealth, cars, and mansions. So there are those who like to hear ONLY these and such GATHER FOR THEMSELVES around them teachers who would speak ONLY WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR that tickle their ears!

Let the Holy Spirit tell you what you should hear than what your itching ears tell you what you want to hear-that would solve the problem! Let the Holy Spirit tell you who to listen to and what to listen to rather than your itching ears do that for you.

Remember scriptures also say, If anyone loves the world the love of the Father is not in Him. 1 John 2:25

So, what is the answer? Prosperity or Poverty? It is obvious from scriptures right from Old Testament to the New Testament that God prospers His people (Psalm 1:3, Joshua 1:8) and that poverty is a curse and that Jesus became a curse so that the blessings of Abraham might come to us by the Spirit which we received by faith – Gal 3:13-15 and also that Jesus became poor so that you may become rich – 2 Cor 8:9. Now, why are we made rich? God’s word says you will be made rich in every way so that you may have for yourself and to GIVE FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. 2 Cor 9:8.

When the fountain of blessing stops with us that becomes stagnant and results in selfishness and those who use it ONLY for their selfish needs and desires may not even receive when he asks! James 4:3

That takes us back to Gen 12:2-3 where God called Abraham and BLESSED HIM and caused him also TO BE A BLESSING TO MANY, so are you called to BE BLESSED by God in every way but do not forget to BE A BLESSING TO MANY.
