uncertain unreliable riches

UNCERTAINTY OF RICHES

God’s every word is true which says money cannot be trusted, but still why do most people live trusting what God says cant be trusted?

The answer is simple but I have to write something, so let me drag it a bit!

“Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy 6:17

God is not against those who are rich, but He wants them to know it is unreliable which means you cannot put your trust in money but He wants them to know God Who alone can be trusted. The issue is not about having money but its unreliability and uncertainty and when man starts trusting his money instead of God he is in trouble.

We have seen how things turned around in the world within a short period of time when the whole world was locked down and even those who had money lived on very basic food, those who had cars could not go out, those who had riches could not travel for vacations, which still is a lingering uncertainty in people’s hearts even today, not knowing when is the next and its uncertainties remaining – thats of the fate of man when he forgets God. Man is an executor of things on earth – either he executes things of God or that of the devil, without even his knowledge.

So, how can that question I initiated be answered? Trust in God, not in riches even though you may have it. When man forgets God and relies on himself, his abilities and his wealth that is like standing on ground that is caving in under your feet. Jesus spoke a parable about a house that is built on a rock and a house that is built on the sand and the conclusion of this parable is:

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27

JESUS is the Word of God and living in obedience to His word is the only solid ground in this world which is quickly giving way from under your feet. Be not foolish, but be wise to live your life trusting God alone.
