SEEK GOD BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM, not just for what he has!

Most times we go to God to seek what He has for us or the plans He has for us or regarding the ministry He wants to do through us, BUT that is not the right way of relating with God Who loves us as sons and wants an intimate relationship with us as sons not as just servants.

In the “Parable of the prodigal son”:

We see how the younger son knew his rights as a son but took all that he has and walked away from the father finally landing up with nothing and miserable.

While the older son who was in the father’s house did not know his rights as a son and though he was with the father lived like a servant in the house.

We can learn from this parable the mistakes both the sons did and how to relate with the father the RIGHT WAY.

John 1:12 says this:

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the RIGHT to become children of God.

If you have received Jesus you are sons (and daughters) of God Who is Father to us.

As sons of the father who loves us, we need to know that the relationship is more valuable than what he has for us.

When we love someone we spend time with him and love to be with him ALWAYS and that is what he wants from us. Stay close to the father and spend time with him and his word (which is the letter he has written to us) to bring us close to the father.

You should also know that whatever he has belongs to his children and there is constant provision available for us as children when you are with him. So we don’t have to collect all that belongs to us and store it “separately” as long as you are WITH HIM.

Stay close to Him, enjoy His love and love Him as He wants our love and all that you need will be provided always when you are WITH HIM.

OUR RIGHTS AND PRIVILiGES AS SONS

UNENDING PROVISION

When we are in the presence of our heavenly Father Who is eternal there is UN-ENDING PROVISION for us as His sons as the Father has said, “‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours.” Luke 15:31

FULLNESS OF JOY AND PLEASURES FOREVER

In His presence – Psalm 16:11, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”

PROTECTION FROM ENEMIES, DISEASES, AND DESTRUCTION

And with long life He satisfies those who are under His wings. Psalm 91:7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not come near you

ALL GOOD THINGS

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1:17

The young lions do without and suffer hunger, But they who seek the LORD will not lack any good thing. Psalm 34:10

SATISFIES OUR HEART’S DESIRES

Delight yourself in the LORD, And He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

RENEWS YOUR YOUTH

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits ….. who renews your youth like the eagles’ Psalm 103:1-5

EVERYTHING FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 1 Peter 1;3

So, everything you need for life and godliness has been granted to us by His divine power and is made available by the true knowledge of Him Who called us

THE LIST IS UNENDING, but in short, ALL that you need and more is available with God Who has given us the RIGHT to be His sons through Jesus Christ.

Hope I did not towards the end motivate you to seek Him for what he can give us!

I really hope I did not do that cos the purpose of this word was to motivate each one of us to SEEK HM and not what we can get from Him or get out of Him!

SEEK HIM ALWAYS AND BE WITH HIM ALWAYS BECAUSE HE LOVED US TO SEND HIS SON TO DIE FOR US AND IN RESPONSE TO HIS LOVE WE ARE CALLED TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL OUR HEART, MIND, SOUL AND ALL OUR STRENGTH.

IT IS GOOD TO STOP AND CHECK THE MOTIVES OF OUR HEARTS WITH WHICH WE DO ALL THINGS.

GOD “STILL” LOOKS AT THE MOTIVES OF OUR HEARTS!
