BE READY, NOT JUST FOR 2022!

As the time is near for the New Year and we make new resolutions let this be a time when we make new resolutions not just for the New Year but for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus said He would return soon and it has been 2021 years since He made that promise to us and many seem to have given up and got on with their lives and many mockers also have come saying, “Where is His coming! You still believe all that! The world has been going on as it were from the beginning of creation”

Scriptures say,

“But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

It is not that Jesus is not ready to come but the church is not ready for Him to appear to take His own to the place where He has prepared for us to be with Him forever. He is waiting patiently on us so that no man would perish as He is coming to take with Him a church that is spotless and without wrinkle – it is WE who need to be ready and get ready the church which is not complete without the remaining chosen ones coming into His fold.

SO WHAT ARE WE TO DO?

We are called to be ready, alert and sober expecting to hear the trumpet sound ANYTIME when no one expects just as the wise virgins were with oil in their lamps. We do not want to be like the foolish virgins who fell asleep and went running around for oil when the Bridegroom appeared and the door was shut before them!

We need to be also doing the work that He has given us to do faithfully to be found doing when He appears so that we can hear Him say, Well done My good and faithful servant, you have been faithful in the little things and I will put you in charge of many things. Matthew 25

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it. 1 Thess. 5:23-24

Let our body, soul and Spirit be kept complete and without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Also, be found DOING what He has assigned each one of us to do in these last days which is to bring the remaining lost into the Kingdom of God leaving the 99 behind and going after the 1 that was lot so that there would be great rejoicing in heaven when the last lost one is found. He has called us to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and even to the uttermost parts of the world – these were the last words of instruction or command Jesus gave to His followers. Acts 1:8

Jesus said, I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

In the Old Covenant, we see scriptures say that Solomon built the temple of God as it was Solomon who gave the command and the laborers built it under his command – likewise, Jesus said it is He who is building the church and we are the laborers through whom He builds His church on earth till it is complete and perfect.

Jesus also said, The harvest is plenty but the laborers are few – which means He needs more laborers as He builds His church for Him to return soon.

ARE YOU WILLING AND READY TO BE A LABORER AS JESUS IS BUILDING HIS CHURCH ON EARTH?

GREAT REWARD!

Even a glass of water given in His name Jesus said He will reward.

Jesus said in Rev 22:12, I come quickly and my reward is with me to give to each one according to his work.

So, let us arise and be the laborers in His vineyard as we eagerly wait like a Bride waiting for her Bridegroom.
