LET GOD BE YOUR GOD – do not let your needs, greeds and desires be your god.

Fishing out only those verses which you like from the Bible results in having a dead fish in your hands!

In one religion I know they have a god for money, wealth and prosperity, another god for education and so on.

If you claim to follow Jesus and His word but choose what you like from the scriptures ignoring other parts of the truth which makes you uncomfortable you too have chosen your needs and desires to be your god.

For such money, wealth and prosperity or education has become their god and their lives speak that loud.

Instead treat all scriptures as the whole counsel of God and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you what He wants to speak to you.
