This title sounds just the opposite of what we usually hear in the world spoken by many motivational speakers and leadership “gurus” of this world but we as children of God are not of this world but of God and we do things not as they do but as God does by His Spirit whom He has deposited in us.

Lets us look at Abraham the father of faith, faith not in himself but in God who promised him and whom he heard the promise from. Even Abraham tried his best to see the promise fulfil HIS OWN WAY and created an Ishmael but God’s promise was not Ishamel (from Abraham and wife’s human mind) but God’s promise was Isaac who was born when all Abraham could do was trust in God as his body was dead.

Likewise, to see God’s promise fulfill in our lives we should know from our hearts that our human mind and wisdom cannot achieve for us what God has promised. Only God can bring it to pass what He has promised and planned and purposed in our lives for us and through us.

We have numerous examples in the Bible for this like Moses who knew God would use him to deliver Israel but tried to do it with his own strength and power and had to flee in fear into the wilderness for another 40 years when God broke his dependency on self and taught him to trust in Him fully which also made him realize that his strength is not able nor capable of doing it when he confessed “Lord I cannot even speak!” from being a man highly “skilled n speech”.

We don’t have to wait till 99 years as Abraham had to but it surely depends on our giving up trust in our own ability and trusting His ability.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY?

On the other hand, we see David who enquired of the Lord ALWAYS before he went out for battle – “Should I go now or not go?” and obeyed as the Lord instructed him to and he won it all. We also see him when faced the enemy which all of Israel could not face went straight ahead facing the enemy and defeated the enemy, not in the world’s wisdom trusting the armor given by man which he refused to wear but by His trust in the almighty God Whom he knew through constant communion in the wilderness while tending the sheep.

Let our self-efforts and ways cease – the sooner the better – and start trusting God in ALL THINGS and seek His guidance in ALL THINGS by the Holy Spirit and see the promises fulfilled in our lives and through our lives to see God take His glory in ALL THINGS!
