I was listening to one or two Jewish Rabbis who are acknowledged by many as having much wisdom on financial prosperity.
The Jews are known to have financially prospered wherever they went or fled or stayed and still continue to be financially prosperous wherever they are.
1. CHARITY
One Rabbi highlighted CHARITY as one the greatest reasons or the most important reason why they prosper financially always as they give to the needy and poor, which is true as Jesus said this:
Give and it will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together, men will pour into your bosom. Luke 6:38
The verse above is used almost always out-of-context by almost all preachers to motivate the listeners to give good offerings when that verse is ACTUALLY speaking about GIVING TO THE POOR – please check its preceding verses.
When you give to the poor you are fulfilling a great need for the people in any community as the poor will always be there among you, and we are to provide and care for them.
It is also taught in entrepreneurship and business circles – to start a successful business find out a need or a problem and fix that problem – this they say is sure to be successful.
When you give to the poor and take care of the poor and needy you are truly fulfilling a need and trying to fix the problem among many in this world.
We know Cornelius from the Book of Acts who gave alms to the poor which came as an offering and aroma before God and He sent an angel to him and then Peter to preach the gospel to him.
That brings the second important thing spoken by the second Rabbi whom I listened to, he said – find a purpose for your existence in this world other than satisfying your own needs.
2. PURPOSE
Are you just living to fulfill your needs on this earth or are you fulfilling a need or a purpose on earth?
If you are here on earth just to fulfill your own need alone that’s the lowest form of living even if that costs a lot to fulfill your “need”.
But when you fulfill someone else’s need you are fulfilling one of the purposes of God which He wants you to do while on this earth.
But there is the HIGHEST PURPOSE for which a man can live in this world which the Rabbi has not known:
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”
You can be part of fulfilling this need which Jesus spoke of as the greatest need on earth for a man – THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
You can live to fulfill this need and purpose and as Jesus said, All these things the people of this world seek will be added unto you.
3. PROSPERITY
Jesus said,
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness ALL these things will be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
When we seek first the Kingdom of God as our main purpose while living in this earth it is promised that all these things will be added unto you
As I listened to the wisdom of the Rabbis I was reminded by the Lord once again to focus my attention on seeing the need to preach the Gospel to all the nations of the world and the Jewish people who are beloved unto God.
